About

Caitlin, Licensed Clinical Social Worker

I’ve always known I wanted to help others. This took on the form of many different paths- from my work in the non-profit world as an domestic violence advocate, working as a health educator Planned Parenthood, my time as an ER clinician, as well as providing support in substance abuse centers and public schools. All of this lead me here. I’ve always gravitated towards one-on-one connections and that is how I landed in private practice. Now, I’m the founder and owner of McArdle Counseling where I am able to provide one-on-one therapy from the comfort of your home. I obtained my MSW from Syracuse University in 2016 and am licensed to practice in Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island, and Texas.

What to expect with Caitlin

I have a dynamic, client driven focus, utilizing evidenced based modalities (MI, CBT, EMDR, psychodynamic) so your sessions are tailored towards your needs. Having been on both sides of the chair, I know how vital it is to have a space in which you feel valued and not judged. I provide an open space to ensure you are both supported as well as challenged.

I specialize in individuals who experience depression, anxiety, ADHD, substance abuse, trauma, and stress related to major life transitions. I fully support the LGBTQA+ community. I am sex positive and body affirming.

Caitlin, a personal note

I love travel, food motivated excursions, live music, and the beach. I recently adopted a mixed pit named Bella who may make special appearances in our sessions together. The cats are more like HR. I am originally from Connecticut but have lived in Montana, New York, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. I’m currently based out of Austin, Texas.
